Money Never Sleeps

I'm in the newest Wall Street 2 trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPCSAAtyLW8
There are a few shots where you can find me. You have to search to find me, unless you pause it at exactly the right point: 0:14-0:15 I'm the redhead at the bottom left corner.

Crazy River

(no subject)

I've just stumbled upon this amazing site, tvtropes.org, where I found this little tidbit: "Jack O'Neill and Samantha Carter of Stargate SG-1 were originally not intended to have romantic feelings for each other. Only when the fans began the Jack/Sam ship did the show writers realize that, indeed, the chemistry was there, and began working this into their story."

Now I'd known that the actors who played Daniel and Janet had been so tickled by fans creating a 'ship for them they worked it into the show with subtle gestures and looks, but, while I figured that some of the later Sam/Jack stuff (like, post Showtime) was influenced by fan response (the show runners are good at that kind of thing...like the 200th episode, which was ALL about the fans), I didn't know it hadn't initially been intended at all. That made me squee with delight.

Ten Rose ORly

(no subject)

It recently (about a minute ago) occurred to me that I hadn't posted anything here since back in August.

Today's ever-so-short entry: reason 10^nth why I love my job. They supply me with a monthly metro-card, so I can go anywhere, ANYWHERE in the city for free.
I've googled knitting stores in Manhattan and have found a couple that look promising. I may stop by sometime in the near future because the scarf I started knitting back when I found that cute little shop near Waterloo just isn't working out, and I need new needles. I've been wanting to find a good shop in NY for a few months, but none of the cheap ones are in my neighborhood and I didn't want to have to spend money on the train, but now 'tis free!

Also, I clearly need to import some better icons to this account :/

The Post-Blogathon Post

Well I had thought I'd be ending the Blogathon having raised only $10 for Animal Health Trust, but at the last minute one of the people I was monitoring, Donnie from Voice the Silence, donated another $20, bringing my grand total up to $30.

A big belated thanks to Donnie! Check out his blogathon video at http://voicethesilence.com/2009/07/26/the-bloodshot-eyes-video-had-surfaced/

In other news, I believe the tech guy who fixed my internet a few weeks ago may have also inadvertently destroyed my computer :/

It's over

Finally.

Surprisingly I'm not quite so tired as I was this time last year. Hm.

Also, I can't sign on AIM. I'm kind of surprised my computer made it through the 'thon. Yay Blue!

Congrats to all the bloggers who made it through.

I've raised a grand total of $10 for Animal Health Trust, which isn't much, but then, I wasn't overly optimistic this year.

A Big Thanks to my one sponsor, tikva, and to my monitor, my team leader, and everyone else who helped out with the event.

Now, sleep.

#47 Just try to stay awake

I'm almost asleep. I can make it the last half hour, but I'm so freaking tired.

30 minutes left.

#46 More about cats

Magick and I were very good friends. I knew all her favorite foods (Smartfood White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn topped the list), I knew just the spot behind her ears that would make her purr when petted.

One of my favorite memories of her occurred one evening at dinner time. A bowl of spaghetti and meatballs was left unattended on the kitchen table. Magick, always the hungry little (read:fat) cat, promptly jumped up on the chair, leaned her forepaws on the table, and began eating right out of the bowl.

Magick is the reason I'm blogging today. There's still time to go over the Blogathon page and donate to the Animal Health Trust.

Magick and Simba (Magick's the fat black blob).

#45 Complain

It's 7:30 am. I've been blogging (and monitoring) for 22 hours now. I feel I've earned some time to complain. I'm tired. I want sleep.

Hmm, I think that about covers it.

#44 Watch some commercials

Taco Bell has a commercial out, that is clearly trying to imitate Lonely Island and it really irritates me. It's just trying way too hard.
